When it comes to art making, I love working in acrylic paint for its assertiveness, watercolor for its fluidity, and mixed-media for surprises and texture.
Kauai has been an inspiration to use bold colors, and connect to nature in the humblest ways.
The island is a perfect place to practice En Plein Air, painting outside with the challenges of the changing light and layers of beauty up close to deep space.
And the more I study nature, I feel a sense of freedom in the simplicity of color shapes and forms that are alive in abstract painting.
In love with nature and in love with life, I am intrigued by the possibilities to express that what is more and more abstract.

Still Life's on White - Watercolor Painting - Fine Arts
I paint from life, the foods from my fridge and flowers from my yard. It is a practice I started as a traveling yoga teacher when I needed to pack light and leave a minimal footprint. The kitchen counter served as my studio and I've never eaten healthier! I go back to simple still life every once in a while to keep my mind on color and focus. Perhaps it's just that I love natural food.
Romantic Skies - Acrylic Painting - Fine Arts
This collection is inspired by the light and fantasy capturing memories and dreams. I enjoy painting this way as an ode to the European Romantic and Surrealist painters from the 19th and 20th centuries adding colors and energy of the present place and time.

The experience itself of painting outside is exhilarating and quite challenging. It can be like chasing the sky and feeling the wind without becoming entirely consumed by the nature around you. These studies were painted rather quickly at some of my favorite beaches and scenic views on the island of Kaua`i.
