This is a collection of my landscape paintings from the island of Kauai: Sunrises and new beginnings, afternoons in the intense sun, and twilight time when the sun goes down.
The materials are part of the experience for each piece. I paint en plein air, with my traveling easel, and I collect small amounts of dirt and sand. The art work includes soil, sand, phone book paper collage, book paper collage, acrylic paint, and gold leaf.
